these days most people need to be shocked or repulsed in order to be moved. and that shit’s gettin’ so deep and so real now that it’s getting easier and easier to lose all feeling completely and just stay numb. and every next time it’s got to be uglier and more shocking. it’s an art crack drive-by.

anyhoozle, i request you pinch your stone heart back into feeling real life and check the wonderfully striking work of amy stein. and remember, just because work is kinda pretty and, ahem, subtle, doesn’t mean it packs less of an emotional punch. check out her “stranded” series to see what i mean. this is gorgeous work that invites you to question why we have created a world of such detachment, isolation, abandonment and fear.
